Phy 202: Team Reflections

In my Physics 202 class, my team members are very engaging and we all work together to help each other succeed in class. We all have very quiet personalities and we spend a lot of time thinking through problems for the longest time.

In my team, I tend to ask a lot of questions especially with the TBLs, this includes asking my fellow team members why they think the answer they chose is correct. From there everyone is able to bring in their ideas, we weigh them out and end up making a final decision.

There are various patterns of behavior in our team, some are strong leaders, some are good communicators and others are good mediators and I think we are all restorative as we tend to jump to trying to solve the problem as quickly as we can.

I received a lot of positive feedback from my team members and I think that I am learning a lot from them too. For example, some of our team members always bring out questions that I forget to think about which is a good problem-solving strategy. I learned that, for a group to function, everyone should be respectful of each other’s choices and arguments and talk through why they think that way. Being open-minded is also a good thing as you are able to take the strongest suits others have and apply it in your own life. In the future, we could work on better communication skills as I think sometimes we go too fast and some of our team members are left behind. I plan to use my teamwork skills in my job as a chemistry and cdvl tutor as I think engaging in a socratic way with students is very helpful.
