For the past year, I have been tutoring introductory chemistry courses and inorganic and physical chemistry. I love science classes, especially when trying to figure some problems out. I love chemistry because it’s so easy to apply your ideas using math and solving your way out of it. I think chemistry is interesting in that, it can be applied anywhere be it in health fields, mining etc.
I am currently majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I chose this major because I enjoy both biology and chemistry classes. It is always interesting for me to study both the chemical processes and the biology behind our bodies or other organisms.
Tutoring chemistry courses, help me enhance my communication skills. I am now able to explain things to students in a more simple way for them to understand. I also learn a lot about different study habits people have so I get to adopt based on their needs during our sessions. I enjoy the conversations I have with my fellow tutors during work about life and school. I am hoping to continue working at the Resource Center for Math and Science in the rest of my undergrad by tutoring other upper-level classes.
