I was the first in my family to travel overseas for like 24 hours for school. Although I’ve traveled many times to and from home, I felt like this was the point in my life where I was in control of everything. I was responsible for booking my own flights, navigating the airport in DOA alone and most of all figure out a way to survive in an airplane for all those hours.
To be honest, my parents were terrified that I was traveling alone to a country far away from home. All I knew was that the tickets I held on my hand were the first step into me attaining my higher education. So I prayed for my journey and I was hoping that I don’t get lost on my way or miss a flight.
As a first born, I have always been responsible for my sister and my cousins. Now I can also navigate different cities or countries without fear. I am looking forward to traveling to many more countries in the future and hoping to learn a lot from those experiences.
